Gosh, writing a bio is hard sometimes.
I am a space historian/metascientist/interested science-adjacent person who loves making science better. I am working on prediction markets for science – openprediction.xyz.
I graduated with an MPhys from the University of Manchester in July 2018; I picked up where I left off by doing an MSc in Science Communication there, graduating in 2019. Along the way, I’ve researched how scientists use Kerbal Space Program for public engagement and contributed to dark sky protection advocacy in Indonesia. In 2023, I graduated with my PhD in the history of British space science. You can read my thesis here.
I’m also a writer, editor and general outreach-type person. I talk to people about physics and maths, including contributing to The Conversation, Skymania News and Popular Astronomy magazine, as well as hosting the Sound of Astronomy podcast. I’m available for consulting and editing; please reach out to me on my contact page and I’ll see what I can do for you.
